Delta 8

What is Delta 8 THC?

Delta-8 (delta-8-tetrahydrocannabinol) is a new popular cannabis compound similar to its more popular cousin delta-9 THC (delta-9-tetrahydrocannabinol). Δ9 and Δ8 are both analogues of THC. If you have had any encounters with “pot” or “weed” it was most likely Δ9 THC

Legality –2018 Farm Bill

Aside from the chemical structure, the biggest difference between Δ8 and Δ 9, is that Δ8 is federally legal AND legal in most states thanks to H.R. 2: The Agricultural Improvement Act of 2018, also known as the 2018 Farm Bill. The 2018 Farm Bill specifically made all derivatives, isomers, and cannabinoids in hemp legal, provided the final product has less than 0.3% Δ9 THC. For reference, Δ8 THC is an isomer of CBD, a derivative of hemp and CBD, a cannabinoid found in hemp, and is ultimately contained in our extracts with less than 0.3% Δ9 THC.

The Effects of Delta 8

For seasoned THC users, Δ8 may feel much less potent than the Δ9 they are used to. If you have never used cannabis, Δ8 can still have strong effects, depending on your body’s chemistry.

As with any THC product, your body’s chemistry along with your tolerance, setting, and dose may lead to different effects. It is advised to start with a little and then wait for the effects. When you vaporize Δ8, the effects will manifest in a few minutes; whereas drinking it will be more similar to an edible, taking anywhere from thirty minutes to an hour. For this reason, we suggest starting slow and waiting between each drink.

Drug Tests

With Δ8 THC having minimal drug testing research, it is not clear if a consumer taking these products would fail or pass a drug test, but because it is so closely related to Δ9 THC it is possible it can show up positively on a drug test. All cannabinoids are assumed to show the presence of cannabis in this case. It is advised that the use of any products that contain THC content should be used at your own discretion.
